Cactus Window Box

Description

This is literally a box that sits on your window sill, allowing the light to come through the three colorful cactus panels.

I found these three black metal cactus forms and thought I could add some color using UV resin for a stained glass look. Once I had them filled in, I had to figure out how to display them.

I built a frame/window box out of a few plywood blocks that were 12″ long. The resulting piece is 24″ long x 12″ tall and 3.5″ wide. On the bottom I placed two small succulent gardens. I made both the flowerpots and the succulents in them with different forms of resin.

The result is a unique, one-of-a-kind art piece that can be hung on a wall or can sit on a window sill.  If you hang it on the wall, I can put a string of lights inside to add an addition glow.
